+ 2 Days

I went in for my check up yesterday, curious about any progress. The irony of now being "late," is that I have a ton of energy and feel great - like my normal self, just with a huge belly. What in the world? So, I am dilated to about a 4, head is down so far that the doctor could "play with it" (her words - yikes!), and she felt like there's no reason that he won't make his appearance any day now. She went ahead and stripped my membranes and was warned that this could set off contractions and maybe bleeding. This was true for, oh, about eight hours and then back to normal. Part of me was thinking it would do the trick but the realistic part of me knows that babies just have to come when they're ready.

So, off I went with an appointment card in hand for WEDNESDAY, should I make it until then. The plan is that if I have to go in Wednesday, I will have a fetal non-stress test for 30 minutes just to see how the baby is doing in there, have an ultrasound to check fluid levels, and then an internal exam. If anything is off at all, I will be sent to the hospital to be induced. If things look good, I can opt for induction on Thursday or Friday or choose to wait for spontaneous labor. Hopefully I won't make it until Wednesday and we won't have to worry about the next choice.

Meanwhile, I am continuing with my walk/running, Body Pump classes and just doing my everyday thing. Days are a little long since I stopped seeing clients week before last but I think I can fill a few more days. I mean, what choice do I have?

Anyone have experiences with being late with their little ones?

Glad you are feeling so good but sorry you are playing the waiting game! (Don't know if I have posted on your blog before but I found you on SLG's blog a while back). I was 5 days late with my first and am currently at 29.5 weeks pregnant with my second and hoping that this one will show up a little early. I could not believe how emotional it was to go past the due date, but like you said, there really isn't much you can do except try to stay occupied and rest when you can and try not to stress out (ha!). And get some good workouts in. :-) You look fantastic!
